CHERRYVILLE NC

Cherryville is a quaint city is Northwest Gaston County.  The population is approximately 6,000.  The New Year's Shooters celebrate the area's German heritage by beginning each year with a customary chant and the honorary shooting of muskets. Cherryville is located approximately 38 miles+/- west of Charlotte and 16+/- miles northwest of Gastonia.


Cherryville offers one elementary school, one intermediate school, one middle school, and one high school.


For the sixth year in a row, Main Street America has named the Cherryville Main Street Program as a nationally accredited Main Street program. The coveted designation is Main Street America’s highest status and recognizes that Cherryville’s program meets rigorous performance standards.
