Russ was born and raised in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
He met his wife Jenna at Appalachian State University in 2008. They now have two children, Parks and Josie Boone. Both Russ and Jenna grew up around farming and the outdoors. Russ's family operates a turf grass farm and hunting preserve in eastern North Carolina (Oakland Plantation). His children (Parks 6, Josie 2) are the fifth generation that have enjoyed the hunting, fishing, and outdoor opportunities that the farm has provided. Jenna's parents have a black angus cow farm in Simpsonville, SC (Martin Farms of Simpsonville), where Parks gets to work the land with his "Pop".
Russ's passion for the outdoors and helping others led him to real estate. Russ represents land owners and those looking to become land owners. Russ is the founder of Point 135 Real Estate and is currently licensed in North Carolina.
Russ is civically involved with the Kings Mountain Family YMCA (Board Member), The Life Enrichment Center of Cleveland County (President of the Board of Directors), and First Presbyterian Church of Kings Mountain (Member/Elder).
